Please remember that  Games coaches are required to meet minimum Coaching Certification requirements prior to coaching at major games (see SOO policy 10.3.2 Certification Requirements for Higher Competition).

If you are missing any of these certifications, please see the following information on how to obtain them. Please remember that courses may only be offered a limited number of timers per year in your area, avoid missing out and register in the earliest course possible.

1. Special Olympics NCCP Community or Competition Coaching course. Visit Training Calendar for a list of scheduled courses.

2. NCCP Multi-sport module: Making Ethical Decisions and two other modules from the Competition Introduction or Competition Development streams of the coaches choice.  A list of available courses can be found on the Coaches Association of Ontario Course Calendar.

3. Making Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation can be completed once the Multi-sport Making Ethical Decisions course appears on your NCCP Transcript. Once you have completed the MED training, and it appears on your transcript, you will have unlimited attempts at the MED evaluation. If you opt to take the evaluation without first completing the MED module there will be an $85 fee associated with the evaluation. The course can be found through The Locker on the Coaches Association of Canada website.
