Special Olympics Ontario is working with York University on a comprehensive assessment of sport participation in youth ages 11-21 years with intellectual disabilities. The Special Olympics research team at York University is inviting parents/caregivers to participate in a survey that can make a huge difference to the Special Olympics community. If you’re interested in a participating please visit, www.specialolympicsontario.com/parentsurvey. By combining your voice with up to 6,000 other Special Olympics Ontario families, we hope that this research will inform how policies and services, including sport programs like Special Olympics, are developed for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This survey is important because your feedback will help us understand how and why athletes participate in sport as well as in other home, community and school activities. We also want to learn about their well-being and that of your family. We hope that this information can be used to help improve services for people with intellectual disabilities and their families, in and out of Special Olympics. Participants are automatically entered into a draw to win a pizza party for their child’s entire Special Olympics team! Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you have any questions or concerns regarding the study, please contact: Lauren Wolman at laurenw@specialolympicsontario.ca or call (416) 447-8326 x 257 and leave a message and she will respond to you as soon as possible. We appreciate your time and consideration! |
